Founded in 1957 by the Decision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the former Yugoslavia, the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Novi Sad, began operating as an Agricultural Experimental and Control Station. The station was located in a building built in 1938, where the seat of the Institute remains to this day.
